The land transfer became official on Monday, November 2, 2026. I greeted the news with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. While I have built on land bigger than this, I’ve not had a vision for a build as ambitious as what my mind keeps conjuring this time.
The sensible thing would be to dream smaller. But really, what’s the point in that?
Life is not meant to be played within the margins of our fears.
Too many people are already limited by the homogeneity of their socialisation - their wonder and imagination often curtailed by adults living within the same normative confines of what makes a good and successful life; determine to imbue us with the same. Nothing wrong with that as a personal choice on how to live. But for the restless amongst us - the ones suffocated by the corralled paths marketed as genuine choices, those working hard to break boundaries, change trajectories, open up and reclaim wonder - colouring inside the lines would be unthinkable while there are entire skies to use as our canvas.
So, with deep gratitude for the opportunity I have to play on this land, and great dread at what I might discover about my abilities, my luck and myself, I am going to take the leap off the edge. The sky might fall on me. Or I might soar.
Whatever the outcome may be, dream big or go home, baby!
